Cork Wine Bar & Market is a natural wine bar, restaurant, and retail shop. We have two locations: Waterbury & Stowe, Vermont.

Believe in natural wine. Believe in organic, biodynamic, no-additive, unfiltered, and wild fermented.
Believe this:
That good wines-the best wines-are grown, not made.
That wines should have a unique person and place behind them, not a big corporation.
That wines should enrich the earth, nurture the soil, and feed the soul, not pollute it.
Do what comes naturally
Drink what comes naturally
And Believe in Natural Wine

Danielle Moffatt went to Chile, New Zealand, Austria and France for the skiing. She stayed for the wine. Nichols, 40, is a Stowe native and attended Green Mountain Valley School,  a well-known ski academy in Waitsfield.

She has skied all her life. 16 years ago, she moved out to California to coach ski racing at the Sugar Bowl Academy in Norden, a small town tucked away in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

She traveled all over the globe with her team. The skiing was good. The wine was even better.

During visits, Moffatt found herself sneaking away for day trips with friends to visit some of the world-renowned wineries for which those far-off places are known.

“All of them were great wine places,” Moffatt noted.

Like a fine grape during fermentation, an idea began to blossom in Moffatt’s head. She wanted to open her own wine bar.

Her dream was realized with the opening of Cork Waterbury in 2011.

“My goal is to create a comfortable wine scene,” Moffatt said. “Some wine stores can be pretty pretentious.”

After a successful five years in Waterbury, Danielle brought Cork to Stowe with the opening of Cork Stowe at 35 School Street in September, 2015.
