Vini Rabasco!

Southern Abruzzo is a place that doesn't get the respect it truly deserves when it comes to amazingly crafted natural wines with a true sense of place. For a generation Abruzzo has become a source of cheap, co-op driven, conventionally made bulk wines. It's modern reputation is unfortunately tied to the reality that most of the wine being made in Abruzzo isn't all that interesting...all you have to do is think of the most common wine, montepulciano, and your mind is made up about what it can be.

As an importer I have been fortunate to cross paths with a winemaker that has a very different vision of Abruzzo then all the rest. Her name is Iole Rabasco, her wines, Vini Rabasco, are changing the game and realizing the true potential of this special territory of Italy, nestled between the Adriatic Sea and the towering Apennines in the shadow of Gran Sasso, one of Italy's largest mountains.

The Rabasco wines capture what I believe is the true essence of Abruzzo; simplicity that is not obvious. Raw material that has great potential but only if worked in the right way. It is a humble region with a bit of Southern Italian flair...the wines of Rabasco, I believe, tell this story best.

Join us for a special evening of family style food and great wine as we debut the wonderful wines of Vini Rabasco. We will be pouring Lu Cuntaden Rosso, a wild montepulciano with a distinct story to tell. As well as the Damigiana Riserva wines that are Rabasco's flagship wines. Bianco, the rare Cerasuolo Rosato and the amazing Rosso. All special wines indeed!

I'm excited, you should be too!
